Winter Drain Downs
- No caravan will be covered under the drain down guarantee once the first frosts have occurred. It is the responsibility of the caravan owner to ensure that they book and pay and advise of a date for their drain down, giving reasonable time prior to cold weather occurring and giving our engineer/s sufficient time to attend. If caravans are drained down after the first frost occurs, they are not covered by the drain down guarantee regardless of whether our engineers find evidence of frost damage or not. JLS will not be held responsible for caravans that are used on sites with extended holiday licences and where frost is highly likely.
On a central heated caravan the anti freeze/fernox level will be checked during the drain down. Should your caravan require a top up/recharge you will be informed of the cost. No caravan will be covered under the drain down guarantee whilst the central heating system has insufficient antifreeze/fernox. It is the responsibility of the caravan owner to ensure that they book, pay and give reasonable time for their caravan to be topped up/recharged prior to the first frost occurring.
- Your caravan will be reconnected for the start of the season and left ready for you to turn your water on at the stop tap
- Bookings must be made before the end of the season/site closes for the winter. No bookings can be made for these services without full payment
- The cost of your drain down covers pipes that burst as a result of cold weather. It does not include damage caused to furniture, fittings, upholstery, items left in cupboards etc. that is caused by water leaks
- Appliances such as washing machines, dish washers, fridges with ice and water dispensing facilities and water filters etc. are not covered by the drain down, please refer to your manufacturer’s instructions for advice. If you caravan has an outside tap, it will be drained if visible to the engineer, however they are not covered under the drain down guarantee
- We will endeavour to be as careful as we can when entering your caravan, but due to weather conditions when drain downs and reconnections are carried out, we would like to remind the caravan owner it is their responsibility to ensure that carpets in main areas and doorways are covered to protect any dirt etc. being transferred
- Your caravan will be reconnected at the start of next season. If you require for the water to be switched on and your boiler to be lit, there will be an additional charge. Please allow a minimum of 7 days notice for appointment to be made for an engineer to attend. This does not insure your system and if faults are found that are not connected to the drain down you will be charged, however, the engineer will advise you before embarking on any work
- In the unlikely event of leaks due to frost damage when you return to your caravan, please turn off the water and electric, if affected by any leaks and contact our office. An engineer will be booked to visit as soon as possible. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Engineers are not available on Sundays or after 5pm
- By making a booking and informing us the caravan key is in the site office, gives permission for our engineer to collect the key and enter your caravan when unoccupied
- By making a booking with JLS, John Lacey & Son Ltd, you agree to our terms and conditions and we reserve the right to alter these at any time
